I have had a pleasure of working with Ly for 6 months now and I cannot express enough how grateful I am for the progress I’ve made under Ly’s guidance.

1. Ly is such a talented teacher! I can now have simple conversations with native speakers. I worked with a number of teachers, and Ly’s teaching stands out.

2. Ly strikes a perfect balance between conversation and textbook during lessons. We begin each class with 20-30 minutes of conversation practice, followed by 30 – 40 minutes of new material focusing on grammar and vocabulary. Ly assigns homework which I find very helpful.

3. The learning materials provided by Ly are exceptional. She has created her own textbook that covers vocabulary, grammar, and exercises in a natural progression. I love the audio recordings which I can come back to later.

Ly goes the extra mile to make all lessons enjoyable and I always look forward to them. I strongly recommend committing and booking 2 – 3 hours per week. You’ll love to progress!

As a third gen Viet girl born in the U.S.,I was never able to pick up Vietnamese when I was younger. Last year I began trying learning Vietnamese, and out of all the Southern Vietnamese teachers I’ve tried, Ly is hands down the best!

Prepared: Ly utilizes slides and pdfs that progress through many different topics. She is excellent at explaining grammar and difficult aspects of pronunciation. She is organized, her lessons systematically introducing new vocabulary and sentence patterns in a way that builds your Vietnamese. She also sends helpful notes after lessons to review.

Passionate: Ly is encouraging and has great energy that makes lessons really enjoyable. I’m sure it’s difficult with how many students she has, but Ly always remembers small details about me and implements them lessons. She even remembers specific words we have/haven’t learned!

Immersive: Ly progressively uses less English and more Vietnamese as I learn more things. She also gives lots of cultural insight into Vietnam!
